At the opening sequence of the video there's a special effect known as the 'earthquake effect'. This indicates danger or panic as is shown when the camera shakes when Lil' Wayne is sat in the chair & the two men were conversing. Another effect is when he falls into the bathtub & it uses slow motion to show the effect of the impact of him falling into the tub. (Image 1)
Furthermore when Lil' Wayne is stood still & the the camera seems to show him elevating upwards, green screen is used to cause this effect. I think that using the buildings as the background is to suit the clothes that Wayne is wearing as that is wear the clothes are most likely to be worn. (Image 2)
A special effect that is used a number of times throughout the video is cloning of the women. This is used to get the attention of the males that are watching the video. (Image 3)
A certain effect that really caught my eye was when Wayne said "Mind so sharp, I f**k around & cut my head off" & it showed his head falling to the side off his shoulders. I thought this was unexpected as you never really see scenes like that happening & its very imaginative.
There's a part in the video when Lil' Wayne says "People say I'm borderline crazy, sorta, kinda". When this is mention the video goes negative (black & white) which links to the lyrics mentioned & the fact that he's wearing a jacket that resembles a straight jacket. (Image 4)
When he says “Talking to myself because I am my own consultant” split screen editing makes it appear as if he’s whispering into his own ear. (Image 5)
The most occurring special effect throughout the video is when the camera seems to jump around in syncopation with the beat of the song. I think this relates to the personality that is showed by Lil' Wayne throughout the video which is that he's wacky, playful & crazy but on the other hand creative & clever as his lyrics impose.
