Song Title: All of the lights-Kanye West ft Rihanna & Kid Cudi
Duration: The original music video for our chosen song lasted for 5mins 28 seconds. However, this length exceeds the length that our final product has to be so we are going to cut out the first minute as this just introduces the music video without the actual song. The final length of our video will be 4 mins 12 seconds.
Audience: Our video will contain scenes with flashing lights, therefore will be unsuitable for anyone with photo sensitive epilepsy. Also it will contain scenes that may not be suitable for a younger audience so our main target audience will be of both male and female over the age of 12 untill the age of around 25. The reason why our target audience consists of both males and females is because Rihanna who sings the chorus of the song is an idol to most girls who can relate to her songs and her sexy image appeals to a male audience. Also Kanye West has a huge male fan base which has exceeded through his long career. The song will reflect the fan base of people who are into hip hop and rnb as it is of these genres therefore will not appeal to people who prefer other genres of music such as rock.
Resume: The narrative of our video is to emphasise the beauty of the lights in Manchester hence the song being called "All of the lights" Our video will not tell a particular story as we have not interprated our chosen song as a song that will tell a story through our music video, but we have simply decided to build a connection between the lyrics of the chorus and the visuals. The original music video of the song does not tell a story and is simply a video full of abstract visuals and the artists performing infront of various backgrounds with several effects. Although the lyrics in the versues are quite emotive and seem to tell a story the visuals only seem to have a direct link to the chorus "turn up the lights in here baby" and we have chosen to follow a similar idea without mirroring the actual video. Although our chosen song falls into the hip hop genre, we will not be immitating the visuals of a typical hip hop music video (girls, cars etc), as we want to make the visuals more appealing to both genders and not just specifically males. Our audience shall expect to see a video full of filtering effect of light with the performers emphasising the lyrics.
Suggested Elements:
Performance: Not Yet Confirmed
Costume: The female performer in our music video (Havana), who will be acting as Rihanna will be wearing all black and simply mimicking Rihannas style with tight fitting leather pants and a fitted black corset. She will also be wearing high heals to highlight Rihannas seductive image. (See research on costume) However changes may be made due to future group discussions. The male performer in our music video (Frank) who will be acting as Kanye West will be wearing dark jeans, converse a black t-shirt and jacket and a gold chain. He will also be mimicking Kanye Wests style, wearing his signature glasses that can be seen in most of his videos. The costume of our other male performer is yet to be confirmed.
SFX: Green screening will be used in the process of our filming in which we will edit into our chosen backgrouds ect. For example we will film the location of a high platform and film the performer in front of the green screen in which we will edit his into it to make him look as though he is on top of it. We will also be using SFX such as filtering to colour our video to reflect the lyrics and split screens.
Key Locations: The key locations for our music video will all be familiar places of Manchester.

As a group, we discussed our preferred locations thouroughly and came to the conclusion that these four locations were best for our music video as they all are locations filled with heavy lighting in the evening, reflecting the lyrics in our chosen song.
Recording Days: We have decided as a group that the evening is the best time to film our music video as lights are enhanced during these times. We will officially begin recording as of Wednesday 19th October. Official recording days wil be decided in the near future and updated onto the blog.
