Representations In The Music Video

Mise en scene & performance are important when it comes to representations.

Performance: In our music video the performance of the main character, shows him trying to deal with the current situation he's in. The representation shown throughout the video is that he's distressed, this is conveyed through his movements & actions such as in the song when "She needs her daddy, baby please" is heard, Kanye has his head down & has his hands clenched, which shows disappointment & anger as he can't see his daughter. Rihanna you could say acts as the 'eye candy' that is used throughout many videos to attract the male viewers & Kid Cudi provides irony you could say when his part comes into play as he dances & sways which contradicts to what the lyrics are about. This shows that Rihanna & Kid Cudi aren't the main focus in the video as they contradict the main performer.

Mise En Scene: Throughout the video a few props are used, such as the sofa, spotlight & the costumes the performers wear. These props gives contribute to the representation of the performers as it shows that they are in a casual environment & the spotlight makes the audience focus on the performers.
